Think you are a Fly Fishing Master?

The time has finally come that you have dreamed about. After going on fly fishing trips with your grandfather many summers for years and learning the secrets and skills of fly fishing, you are going to compete in a tournament being held in Georgia. Since you have to enter as teams of two, having your grandfather as your partner will be perfect because he is an excellent fly tier. Some general rules include not fishing the waters of the competition for three weeks prior to the event. You must provide your own flies and fishing equipment. All costs and expenses are the responsibility of finalists except transportation and hotels which are usually provided by the organizer of the event.

In the competition you will be judged on roll casting, accuracy, obstacles, and distance. It would probably be beneficial to you to pick up a copy of Georgia fly fishing guides. Once you are on the water there are many rules to follow, such as only trout are counted and safely released, each angler must measure and record their first fish caught, and one barbless hook and one fly may be used at a time. Have fun at the tournament and maybe all those years of fishing in Georgia will land you a big payoff!
