Life with a New Baby

My wife and I welcomed our first child at the end of September. She filled our lives with joy and our hearts with love, but I knew that the transition was hard on my wife. As Halloween has always been my wife’s favorite day of the year, I wanted to do something special for her, so I decided that I was going to look at infant Halloween costumes and find one for our daughter that would go well with my wife’s.

It was the first time that she was not going to be able to do all of the things that she loved to do at Halloween and I wanted the day to be special for her anyway. I decided that I would try to find them both some Disney costumes, so that we could take the baby out and show her off to our family and friends.
When I was browsing through the womens Halloween costumes, I found the perfect Cinderella one for my wife. I thought that if I could also find a Cinderella costume that would fit the baby, my wife would be overjoyed. It took some effort, but I did eventually find one.

A few weeks before the big day, I could tell that my wife was feeling down and glum about missing her first Halloween for as long as she could remember. That is when I gave her the costumes that I had purchased. She cried - which I had expected, and was so happy to realize that the new baby was not a reason to stop doing the things that she loved.
