Finding News on the Web

It wasn’t that long ago that I use to have three newspapers delivered to my house on a daily basis. I digested the news from these sources thoroughly.   But times have changed…and for the good I think. I no longer get any newspapers delivered. I’m glad about this as it saves many of the world’s resources - especially trees.

I, like most of the population, now find most of my news on the web.   This has greatly affected the news industry. Newspapers have had to greatly alter their business models. Most have been forced into changing with the time and move online to report on news and business today.

News blogs have also greatly changed the field of news reporting. There are now many bloggers out there functioning as journalists, getting news scoops and beating the major newspapers to the story. Newspapers have had to change the way they acquire information. Now you will see online newspapers incorporating readers photographs and eyewitness accounts into their reporting. Newspapers have entered the realm of social news.
