The Information Age and Certifications
By ISOLTR in Education | 0 comments
This is the information age. It would be hard to argue otherwise. You can get online and find out just about anything in a matter of minutes. But it is not magical; we do need experts to keep our networks and systems working the way they are supposed to.
These are the folks in information technology or IT. These are the ones who went to school or some of them a variety of schools to learn how to make our systems work and keep them working. And most of them have a variety of certifications to show for it.
One of the more advanced certifications is the CISSP. It is an acronym for Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Armed with what they refer to as a Common Body of Knowledge (or CBK as they often refer to it), it is there job to do risk management, disaster recovery and just about everything in between. To even be eligible to become a CISSP, you have to have at least five years in the business. Then you have to take CISSP training so you will know how to pass the CISSP exam. And when you do pass, and are given the certification, it’s still not over because continuing education is also required.
